ASPIRE Educational Foundation Conducts Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in Cross River LGAs
ASPIRE Educational Foundation (AEF), a transformative non-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the quality of education for Nigerian youth, has conducted its first edition of the ASPIRE Quiz Competition among Secondary Schools within three LGAs of Cross River State’s Central Senatorial District – Yakurr, Abi and Obubra. The event showcased the region’s bright young minds and further underscored AEF’s commitment to educational excellence.
At the Semi-final stage of the competition, around 5 schools in each of the three LGA’s competed, from which three finalists emerged: Government Technical College, Obubra (representing Obubra LGA); Community Secondary School, Ugep (representing Yakurr LGA) and Community Secondary School, Itigidi (representing Abi LGA). The three schools locked horns in the Final of the competition held in Ugep, where Community Secondary School, Ugep, emerged victorious.
Guests at the Final of the Quiz competition, who included representatives of the three LGA Council Chairmen, Heads of the Education Authorities as well as Teachers and Principals of the participating schools, commended the Foundation for reviving this event which used to be a staple of secondary schools’ extra-curricular activities, and was so vital in broadening the educational foundation of secondary school students. They called on the Foundation to keep up its laudable effort and make the competition a regular occurrence.
Founder and Chairman of AEF, Mr. Kasi Usani, emphasized the Foundation’s resolve to help in improving the standard of education accessible to our young people. He announced that plans are underway to extend the Quiz competition to secondary schools across the entire state, beginning with the rest of the LGAs in the Central Senatorial District.
The Chairman explained that the ASPIRE Quiz Competition is just one example of the Foundation’s planned activities aimed at inspiring a future generation of well-educated and skilled young people who will not only achieve personal success but also be able to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Established in 2022, and headquartered in Calabar, Cross River State, ASPIRE Educational Foundation envisions a brighter future where young individuals are assisted, guided and mentored to become leaders and change-makers in society. The organization’s mission is centered on inspiration, mentorship, and financial support to less privileged beneficiaries, to enable them obtain qualitative education and skills development in a manner that would guarantee the achievement of their life goals.
